1. Take the package to any Walgreens cashier. Pay the $4.95 purchase price plus the amount you want to load to the card. Cash only. Initial load: $10 to $500.
2. Register online or by phone. You may need to wait up to 60 minutes before you can register. You'll need to provide your Social Security Number and other information.
3. Your personalized card will arrive in the mail. Until then, use the temporary card inside. The temporary card is not reloadable, does not have ATM access, and is valid only in the United States.

Federal law requires Green Dot to obtain, verify, and record information that identifies customers before they register a new card. This means that you will need to provide your name, address, date of birth, Social Security Number, and other information. The person registering the personalized card must be at least 18 years old. The product may not be refunded at the store for any reason. Call Green Dot for refunds.
