Walgreens Inclusive Workplace: Nivia Santiago

Nivia Santiago, Walgreens Market Vice President

Market Vice President

"We are a big family and it does not matter what your nationality, race, color, gender, age, orientation or beliefs are, you are made to feel welcome."

"I started in August 1985 as a pharmacy student. After I graduated in 1988 from the Pharmacy School, University of Puerto Rico, I became a pharmacist. Then I was promoted to Pharmacy Manager, Store Manager and District Manager before being promoted to my current position of Store Operations Vice-President in 2004. Walgreens has been my only employer and I am very grateful for the great opportunities that this company has offered me. Walgreens gave me the opportunity to develop my skills and become a successful professional.

"As a professional, I am always looking for new challenges and Walgreens offers me a new challenge every day. I am always learning something new and being surrounded by great people has been the key to my success. We are a big family and it does not matter what your nationality, race, color, gender, age, orientation or beliefs are - you are made to feel welcome."
