Did you know? A normal vaginal pH of 3.5 to 4.5 is important for maintaining good vaginal health.
Understanding Your pH
pH is a measure of how acidic or alkaline a substance is. The pH of a certain substance is described as a number from 0-14. The lower the number, the more acidic the substance. Distilled water is neutral, and has a pH of 7. The pH of a healthy vagina is 3.5 to 4.5, which is acidic.
Why Does pH Matter?
You've probably heard that pH balanced shampoo can keep your hair strong and healthy, or that pH balanced deodorant eliminates odor and perspiration to keep you feeling fresh. But it's not just our hair and underarms that benefit from pH balance. In fact, pH balance plays a large role in the overall health of our bodies. And different parts of the body function best at different pH levels.
What is Healthy Vaginal pH?
A normal vaginal pH of 3.5 to 4.5 is important for maintaining good vaginal health. At this optimum pH level, your vagina contains a balance of necessary bacteria and some yeast cells. This delicate balance can be easily disturbed.
Why Does Vaginal pH Matter?
When this balance is disturbed, vaginal problems like odor and discomfort are more likely to occur. When vaginal pH is unbalanced, odor causing microorganisms can flourish. Studies show that vaginal issues often occur when vaginal pH is unbalanced. By maintaining a healthy vaginal pH, you can help reduce your risk of vaginal issues.
Did you know? RepHresh Gel quickly and easily maintains the natural pH balance of the vagina.
Understanding Feminine Odor
Feminine odor is generally caused by unbalanced feminine pH. Unbalanced pH can be triggered by menstruation, semen, douching, and even by using body soaps. Many women find the answer in RepHresh Gel, which quickly and easily maintains the natural pH balance of the vagina. Maintaining a healthy pH level can help to reduce the risk of vaginal issues.
Types of Vaginal Infection
The two most common types of vaginal infections are bacterial vaginosis (BV) and yeast infections. BV is the most common form of vaginal infection. Nearly half of all vaginal infections are classified as bacterial vaginosis, while about 29% are classified as yeast infections. It is common for women to mistake one for the other.
- BV generally results in an excessive grayish white vaginal discharge and a bothersome "fishy odor" which can be worse after sexual intercourse. Many people describe the discharge as yogurt-like or pasty. May also have vaginal itching & redness.
- Yeast infections can be very uncomfortable. Symptoms generally include itching and burning in the vagina and around the vulva, a white vaginal discharge that may look like cottage cheese, pain during sexual intercourse, and swelling of the vulva. May be odorless or have a yeasty smell.
Understanding Vaginal Discomfort
Vaginal discomfort may be caused by unbalanced feminine pH. Your pH can become unbalanced from menstruation, semen, douching, and even body soaps. RepHresh Vaginal Gel helps you take control and maintain healthy vaginal pH. Sometimes feminine discomfort is prompted by vaginal dryness. If your source of discomfort is from dryness, we recommend Replens Long-Lasting Feminine Moisturizer.

RepHresh should be used once every three days for best results or when pH imbalance is most likely to occur: After your period; Before or after sex; After douching; For freshness anytime. It may be helpful to use RepHresh during the times you are most susceptible to higher pH levels, such as after your period or sex. Your doctor can help you figure out when you are most susceptible to higher pH levels based on your medical history. Studies show that vaginal issues often occur when vaginal pH is unbalanced. RepHresh is simple and easy to use. The applicator is inserted into the vagina just like a tampon. After pressing the thick end of the applicator, a small amount of clear gel enters the vagina.
