What do I need to be eligible for Same Day Delivery?

 

If you are requesting delivery online via Walgreens.com you will need to have:

  • An active Walgreens.com account
  • A verified pharmacy account
  • A prescription with at least one refill remaining
  • An active credit card on file on your Express Pay account
  • A delivery address within serviceable zip codes

If you are requesting delivery by calling or walking into the pharmacy you will need to have:
  • A prescription to be filled

Are there restrictions on what can be delivered?

 

Yes. The following items cannot be delivered:

  • Controlled substances (CII-CV)
  • Refrigerated items/Temperature sensitive
  • Prescriptions billed to Medicare Part B
  • Non health-related pharmacy OTC items
  • Prescriptions billed to certain state-administered and commercial health plans

There are limited health related OTC items that can be purchased and delivered with your prescription delivery. Please contact your local pharmacy to find out what items can be added as part of prescription delivery.

Is there a fee for Same Day Delivery?

 

Yes. There is a delivery fee of $8 per delivery, not per item. For example, if you are having three (3) prescriptions delivered at the same time, you will be charged $8 for delivery. Some exceptions may apply, such as Medicaid prescriptions are not charged a delivery fee.

Yes. If you are signed up for prescription text alerts, you will receive a text alert when your prescription is filled. However, delivery status notifications such as "delivery is on its way" or "delivered" will only be sent via email and only if email is provided at time of delivery request.

When do I need to have my prescription order placed if I am ordering in-store, over the phone or online to be eligible for delivery?

Can I leave comments or instructions for the pharmacist or driver about my online prescription?

 

Yes. When placing your order online you can enter comments or instructions at checkout for the pharmacist or driver about your prescription. For example, you can add comments to your online order which will be given to the courier (such as please knock loudly, hard of hearing, be patient I have a hard time walking, it may take me awhile to get to the door). And don't forget to include your Balance Rewards phone number.

Can I change or cancel my prescription delivery order?

 

Possibly. Please contact your local pharmacy to make any changes or to cancel your prescription delivery order. If the prescription is already out for delivery, you will need to wait for delivery and bring the prescription back to the store.

When can I expect my Same Day Delivery order?

 

Deliveries are scheduled based on the delivery time window you requested during in-store, over the phone or online checkout. There are three (3) deliveries Monday through Friday and one (1) delivery on Saturday and Sunday.

Can I track my delivery?

 

Yes. If you provided an email address at the time of the order you should receive an email from the courier iOmni with tracking information once the driver has picked up the order from the pharmacy.

Can prescriptions for more than one person be delivered to the same address?

 

Yes. Customers living at the same address get one flat delivery charge of $8. However, for customers living at different units at retirement homes, apartment buildings, etc., though it may be one address, each customer would get charged $8 for delivery.

What happens if I miss my delivery?

 

If you miss the first delivery attempt, we will contact you to reschedule the delivery. You will not be charged a second delivery fee of $8..

What happens if I miss a rescheduled delivery?

 

If you miss a rescheduled delivery, we will contact you to see if you still want your prescription delivered or if you would like to pick up your prescription in-store. If you would still like your prescription delivered, you will then be charged an additional $8 fee.

Can my prescription be delivered to a P.O. Box or my work address?

 

No. Prescription delivery service can only be offered to the home address on file. We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes.

Yes. Someone 18 years or older must sign for your prescription delivery.

How can I identify my delivery driver?

 

Your delivery driver will be wearing a iOmni lanyard and standard uniform with the iOmni logo. However, there is no signage on their vehicle.

No. It is not recommended to tip your delivery driver.

What kind of packaging will my prescription be delivered in?

 

Your prescription will be delivered in a sealed Security Bag with your name and address on the outside of the bag. The Security Bag will prevent anyone from seeing what medication is being delivered.

What is Walgreens Same Day Pickup?

 

The Walgreens Same Day Pickup program allows you to shop your local Walgreens online for non-prescription items and have your order ready for pick up in store or delivered directly to your car in about an hour. Start by clicking on the Same Day Pickup banners found on the Walgreens.com or Walgreens App Home page or Shop page.

How long will it take for my order to be ready?

 

Orders will be ready in about an hour. Orders must be placed two hours before store closing to receive the order same day. Orders placed outside of business hours will be ready for pickup the next day, one hour after store opening. You will receive a text confirmation when your order is ready for pickup.

Should I tip if I choose curbside delivery and have my order brought to my car?

 

There is no need to tip.

Why do I need a smartphone to place Same Day orders?

 

You can place an order on a desktop or mobile device using a web browser like Safari or Chrome. However, you will then need your smartphone to confirm your order by text message. Your order won't be placed until you confirm. We use smartphone technology like location services, text alerts and push notifications to communicate with you and understand when you've arrived at the store.

Are all of the items sold in store available for Same Day?

 

With Walgreens Same Day Pickup program, you can shop your local stores available inventory. Most items are available for pickup; snacks, personal care, vitamins, etc. Items requiring age verification are not available for Same Day Pickup, such as alcohol, tobacco, and a few select over-the-counter medications.

Why does my order confirmation at checkout say that prices are estimates only?

 

The prices quoted on the site at the time you checkout your online order are estimated prices only. The actual order value cannot be determined until the order is fulfilled as some items may be unavailable and/or some discounts and savings cannot be applied until order completion. Yes, you will continue to receive some of the same great Balance Rewards promotional pricing and offers! You will need to have your Balance Reward card linked to your Walgreens.com account before you place an order to receive Balance Reward benefits. Individual item sale pricing will be displayed once you are signed in and have linked your Balance Rewards card to your account. Walgreens digital coupon savings will be applied once the order is fulfilled, but will not be displayed at checkout. All eligible discounts, promotional pricing and Balance Rewards points earned will be reflected on the final receipt attached to your order at pickup. If you are a Walgreens Plus member, your discount will also be applied once your order if fulfilled and will be displayed on your order receipt. Will Balance Rewards points apply to Same Day Pickup items?

 

Yes, you will earn Balance Rewards points on eligible items as you would if you purchased items in-store as long as your Balance Reward card is linked to your Walgreens.com account. The points will not appear on your order at checkout, but once the order has been fulfilled the Balance Reward points will be issued and will appear on the final receipt attached to your order at pickup. Can I use coupons on items I purchase through the Same Day Pickup program?

 

Yes, you can use Walgreens Paperless Coupons on items purchased through Walgreens Same Day Pickup program, however paper coupons and Walgreens.com-only coupon codes are not accepted. Walgreens Paperless Coupons are electronic coupons that you can clip directly to your Balance Rewards account. For more information on how to clip and use Paperless Coupons, click here. All eligible coupon offers clipped to your Balance Rewards card will be automatically applied at pickup as long as your Balance Reward card is linked to your Walgreens.com account. Be sure to clip offers to your card before you shop in order to save on your purchase. Coupon savings will be reflected on the final receipt attached to your order at pickup.

How do I pick up my Same Day Pickup order?

 

Once you have received a text notification that your order is ready, head to the Walgreens store you selected for Same Day Pickup with your Pickup Pass. Your Pickup Pass was sent to you via text or you can find it in Order Details on the Walgreens app or Walgreens.com. You may either (1) park in the designated Same Day Pickup location, close to the store entrance; or (2) come into the store and present your Pickup Pass to a team member at the Photo counter. Once parked, pull up your text message, and reply "HERE". This action will let the store associate know you are at the store. You can also go into Order Details in your Account and tap "HERE". A Team Member will be out shorty to deliver your order to you. Please show your Pickup Pass code to the Team Member to receive your order.

When can I pick up my order?

 

Orders placed during normal store hours will be ready in about an hour after the order has been placed. Please wait until you have received text or email confirmation that your order is ready to be picked up. Note: If order is placed two hours before the store closes or during an hour that falls outside of the normal store operating hours, orders can be picked up the next day approximately an hour after the store opens. If the order is placed early in the morning hours it will be ready approximately an hour after the store opens. What if my selected store is out of a product I ordered?

 

You'll receive a text message letting you know that your order was only partially fulfilled and you will be given the option to accept or cancel your order. Order will remain as "In-Progress" until you either accept or cancel.

Can I cancel my Same Day Pickup order after I place it?

 

Yes, you can cancel a Same Day Pickup order in the app or from your web browser. Look for the link at the bottom of your Order Detail page that allows you to cancel your order. You also can return items in your order in accordance with Walgreens in-store return policy.

What happens if I don't pick up my order?

 

At the end of the fourth day, we will cancel your order and return the products to our shelves. The pending authorization placed on your credit card when you ordered will be released when the order is canceled. Please allow up to ten days for the pending charge to be removed from your card.

How am I charged?

 

We accept both credit and debit cards. When you place a Same Day Pickup order, there's a pending authorization placed on your credit card. The card is only charged when you pick up the order. Although you may see a charge authorization before you come to the store, your card will only be charged when you pick up your order. The charge will be processed by Walgreens****Curbside. If you cancel your order, please allow up to 10 days for the pending charge to be removed from your card.
