What do I need to be eligible for Same Day Delivery?

 

If you are requesting delivery online via Walgreens.com you will need to have:

  • An active Walgreens.com account
  • A verified pharmacy account
  • A prescription with at least one refill remaining
  • An active credit card on file on your Express Pay account
  • A delivery address within serviceable zip codes

If you are requesting delivery by calling or walking into the pharmacy you will need to have:
  • A prescription to be filled
  • An active credit card on file on your Express Pay account

Are there restrictions on what can be delivered?

 

Yes. The following items cannot be delivered:

  • Controlled substances (CII-CV)
  • Refrigerated items/Temperature sensitive
  • Prescriptions billed to Medicare Part B
  • Non health-related pharmacy OTC items
  • Prescriptions billed to certain state-administered and commercial health plans

Can I have other products delivered with my prescription delivery?

 

There are limited health related OTC items that can be purchased and delivered with your prescription delivery. Please contact your local pharmacy to find out what items can be added as part of prescription delivery.

Is there a fee for Same Day Delivery?

 

Yes. There is a delivery fee of $8 per delivery, not per item. For example, if you are having three (3) prescriptions delivered at the same time, you will be charged $8 for delivery. Some exceptions may apply, such as Medicaid prescriptions are not charged a delivery fee.

Is there a fee for Same Day Delivery if I am Walgreens Plus member?

Will I receive a text alert about my prescription delivery?

 

Yes. If you are signed up for prescription text alerts, you will receive a text alert when your prescription is filled. However, delivery status notifications such as "delivery is on its way" or "delivered" will only be sent via email and only if email is provided at time of delivery request.

When do I need to have my prescription order placed if I am ordering in-store, over the phone or online to be eligible for delivery?

Can I leave comments or instructions for the pharmacist or driver about my online prescription?

 

Yes. When placing your order online you can enter comments or instructions at checkout for the pharmacist or driver about your prescription. For example, you can add comments to your online order which will be given to the courier (such as please knock loudly, hard of hearing, be patient I have a hard time walking, it may take me awhile to get to the door). And don't forget to include your Balance Rewards phone number.

Can I change or cancel my prescription delivery order?

 

Possibly. Please contact your local pharmacy to make any changes or to cancel your prescription delivery order. If the prescription is already out for delivery, you will need to wait for delivery and bring the prescription back to the store.

When can I expect my Same Day Delivery order?

 

Deliveries are scheduled based on the delivery time window you requested during in-store, over the phone or online checkout. There are three (3) deliveries Monday through Friday and one (1) delivery on Saturday and Sunday.

Can I track my delivery?

 

Yes. If you provided an email address at the time of the order you should receive an email from the courier iOmni with tracking information once the driver has picked up the order from the pharmacy.

Can prescriptions for more than one person be delivered to the same address?

 

Yes. Customers living at the same address get one flat delivery charge of $8. However, for customers living at different units at retirement homes, apartment buildings, etc., though it may be one address, each customer would get charged $8 for delivery.

What happens if I miss my delivery?

 

If you miss the first delivery attempt, we will contact you to reschedule the delivery. You will not be charged a second delivery fee of $8..

What happens if I miss a rescheduled delivery?

 

If you miss a rescheduled delivery, we will contact you to see if you still want your prescription delivered or if you would like to pick up your prescription in-store. If you would still like your prescription delivered, you will then be charged an additional $8 fee.

Can my prescription be delivered to a P.O. Box or my work address?

 

No. Prescription delivery service can only be offered to the home address on file. We cannot deliver to P.O. Boxes.

Does someone have to sign for my prescription delivery?

 

Yes. Someone 18 years or older must sign for your prescription delivery.

How can I identify my delivery driver?

 

Your delivery driver will be wearing a iOmni lanyard and standard uniform with the iOmni logo. However, there is no signage on their vehicle.

No. It is not recommended to tip your delivery driver.

What kind of packaging will my prescription be delivered in?

 

Your prescription will be delivered in a sealed Security Bag with your name and address on the outside of the bag. The Security Bag will prevent anyone from seeing what medication is being delivered.
