I tested my HDL and Total Cholesterol with this kit. Due to our mistake (not filling the well completely), the HDL was invalid. We did the Total Cholesterol test correctly and it worked as explained on the instructions. I do not know if the value obtained is accurate since we do not have a baseline to compare to (previous test) but it shows that my total cholesterol is within normal values (desirable). I will purchase a couple more tests to repeat.

Purchased on 10-14-2012. Followed instructions carefully. HDL Cholestrol Test failed to change color to indicate results. Total Cholestrol Test changed from white to faint light purple indicating questionable results.

The aaccuracy is unreliable/questionable. We have done the same test five days in a row with kits from different lot numbers. Results range from very high to very low even though the blood composition did not change much at all due to diet. Just to check, after eating fatty foods and drinking milk, the results were no different than before. Question then remains: is the test faulty or does my wife not respond to eating anything????

You have to take two tests, one for your HDL level and one for your Total levels. Though I followed the directions, the Total test failed. I might try it one more time.

I FOUND THIS PRODUCT TO BE A GREAT BUY. I WOULD USE IT AGAIN AND RECOMMEND TO OTHERS.
