Pros: quiet nice display dehumidifies well

Cons: pump and service

I bought this for basement use. I wanted the pump to put water outside the home. Pump runs but does not pump water....I think it's air locked. Sent emai to Winix via their website to try to resolve problem. That was two weeks ago and not an answer. Service is my highest priority on my purchases, and Winix doesn't have it. It's not poor service, it's no service.

Cons: tank is in an add place but workable.

Living in Florida we live with lots of humidity and this unit removers a lot of humidity. Old unit was a Fedders, seven years old and very noisy. This unit is quite quiet and very easy to set up. With three options for getting rid of water it should fit most anywhere. On first running it ran 7 hours straight making 2 bedroom 2 bath house much more comfortable.

Nice to purchase an item and get exactly what you expected. Functions properly, looks good, sounds good. Well packaged and not just another "me-too" dehumidifier that may last a year if you are lucky.

This is a beautiful item. It is well made and very effective at pulling down the humidity. Since my previous dehumidifier had been ineffective for some time, it initially pulled approximately one-half gallon every 24 hours. It has now calmed down and cycles off more often. The end of the tube from the pump is in a gallon milk bottle, allowing me to monitor its output. The clinching factor in my choice was the pump, so it was disappointing when the first one I received proved to be defective in this area. The bucket would fill, and the pump would run to empty it, but there was no water flow. Jiggling the pipe at the pump sometimes caused it to work for a few cycles, but eventually even that did not help. This is a quality issue that cost one star. Walgreens' return process is straightforward. I ordered a replacement, which worked correctly out of the box. Until it arrived, I emptied the bucket by hand. The only difficulty thus far with the return has been having to carry the heavy box back up the basement stairs and to UPS.

I purchased one of these units five weeks ago and liked ot so well that I bought a second unit two weeks ago. Both work perfectly and all functions work exactly as advertised. Quality sound. Very good fit and finish. Only downside is that if you choose to use the internal reclaim bucket; you will find it awkward to remove and replace after you empty it. Built-in pump is great. Hose drain ahead of the built-in bucket is also a great idea.
