Community Corner Program

Reflecting Diverse Neighborhoods

Walgreens Community Corner, Supporting Minority Business

Walgreens stores reflect the diversity of the neighborhoods they serve. In an effort to raise awareness of the diverse selection of products on Walgreens shelves, the company launched the Community Corner program in February 2010. This first-of-its kind program helps customers to easily identify products produced by diverse suppliers and to promote economic growth in their communities.

Through mentoring and partnering with diverse suppliers, Walgreens is helping to develop strong entrepreneurs who will help meet the needs of an increasingly diverse population. In addition, the program provides new opportunities to positively impact the health and wellness of communities through education and health tests.

So far, Community Corner has featured dozens of vendors during Black History Month and Hispanic Heritage Month. In May 2010, Walgreens featured products by women-owned businesses, both online and in stores. Community Corner will feature a variety of vendors and products at different times throughout the year.
