Salt-and-pepper hair can make you look older than you feel. But you can still bring your color back to life with a new shade, and, no, it doesn't have to be an exact match of the original color of your hair.
Challenge Resistant Gray
Your hair appears gray when it loses all the pigment that gave it color. Gray hair can be more
resistant to hair color than the pigmented hair. To make sure you are covering all of your gray

Highlight It Away
If you have only a few gray strands and your hair is naturally blonde to medium brown, you can easily camouflage the gray in your base color by highlighting. You'll create a beautiful, multi-tonal effect that will appear very natural. If your hair is dark or you have a lot of gray, you can still use highlights to decrease the contrast of a salt-and-pepper look. The lighteners in the highlights will lighten your dark hair and leave the gray, resulting in a much more even shade.
Lighten Up
Very dark hair color, especially black, tends to intensify the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and other signs of age. Pick a shade one to two levels lighter than your natural color to help minimize the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
