What is Cipro?
CiproŽ (ciprofloxacin)
is a prescription antibiotic medication used to treat infections caused by bacteria. CiproŽ is
effective in treating a variety of infections like pneumonia and urinary tract infections as
well as ailments like bone, skin and sinus infections.
CiproŽ side effects
Cipro's most common
side effects include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, skin rash and restlessness. You can
reduce some of the stomach-related side effects like nausea by taking CiproŽ with food. But do
not take CiproŽ with dairy products like milk and yogurt. Even calcium-added juices without any
other food can lead to side effects from CiproŽ. You should also avoid caffeinated products
like coffee, cola, tea and chocolate.
CiproŽ can also make
your skin more sensitive to sunlight, or photosensitive. Photosensitivity's symptoms include
warmth, redness, blisters, swelling and rash. It is recommended that you use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an
SPF of at least 15.
