What are Sectral's risks and side effects?

Sectral« (acebutolol) has a variety of side effects. Some of the most common side effects include: fatigue, headaches, dizziness, diarrhea, constipation, upset stomach, nausea, excess gas, frequent urination and labored breathing. Serious side effects that require immediate medical attention include: shortness of breath, wheezing, chest pain and swelling of the lower legs, ankles or feet. Contact your doctor if you develop any of these symptoms.

What should I know about Sectral before taking it?

Be careful when operating motor vehicles or other machinery while taking Sectral« (acebutolol). Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, wish to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you have drug allergies or are scheduled for any surgeries. Talk to your doctor about any existing medical conditions that you have.

Tell your doctor if you wish to stop taking Sectral« (acebutolol). Your doctor can tell you how to safely withdraw from the drug. If you suddenly stop taking Sectral«, you may be at higher risk for heart attack or chest pain.
