Changing Plans

Chat with Pharmacy Staff

When are patients eligible to change their current Medicare Part D plan?

Patients are eligible to change their current Medicare Part D plan through the open enrollment period. The open enrollment period for Medicare Part D plans begins every year on October15 and runs through December 7, with the plans taking effect on January 1. With that said, you should still contact your individual plan to find out if there is way to opt out earlier. Odds are you are stuck with the current plan until next year. That is why it is so important to take your time and do the necessary research before making a selection. You can schedule an appointment with your local pharmacist who can help you through the plan selection process.
