Vitamin A saves lives

Vitamin A saves lives

Worldwide, vitamin A deficiency is a major cause of preventable blindness in children under
five.1 Half of them die within 12 months of losing their sight.2 Inadequate vitamin A also increases
the risk of illness, even death, from common childhood infections like diarrhea or measles.3

Delivery of high-dose supplements remains the principal strategy for controlling vitamin A
deficiency in many developing countries without fortified foods.

It's a quick, simple and low-cost solution to widespread and devastating health issues
around the globe.
