Prep time: 5 minutes.
Bake time: 10 minutes. You will need: 1/2 stick (1/4 cup) butter, margarine or spread,* softened (not melted), plus 1 tablespoon water. To soften butter directly from refrigerator, microwave unwrapped stick on high 10-15 seconds. *If using spread, use one that has more than 65% vegetable oil.
- Heat oven to 375°F (or 350°F for dark or nonstick cookie sheet). Stir cookie mix, softened butter and egg in medium bowl until soft dough forms
- Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls 1 inch apart onto ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake for 8-10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Cool 2 minutes before removing from cookie sheet. Cool completely; store in airtight container
