How is AREXVY given?AREXVY is given as a single dose (0.5 mL) into the muscle of the upper arm.

How does AREXVY work?AREXVY boosts your body's protection against RSV, which can cause lower respiratory tract disease (LRTD).

What is RSV?

RSV is a respiratory virus that typically causes mild symptoms. However, RSV infections can be severe and dangerous for certain people. People aged 60 years and older, including those with certain underlying conditions such as asthma, COPD, and chronic heart failure (CHF), have a greater risk for developing a severe infection from RSV. In fact, some severe RSV infections may even lead to hospitalization.

Symptoms of lung and lower airway infection from RSV may include congestion, cough, shortness of breath, or wheezing.

RSV can be serious for those aged 60 years and older, including those with:

  • Asthma
  • COPD
  • Diabetes
  • And certain other conditions
When should I consider getting vaccinated with AREXVY?
RSV infections commonly begin to occur during the fall, peak in the winter, and subside during the spring in most regions of the United States.

  • The most common side effects are injection site pain, fatigue, muscle pain, headache, and joint pain
