Diabetes Diet Do's and Don'ts
Do: Make Time for Breakfast

Having regular meals helps keep your blood sugar steady. That’s why it’s crucial to start your day by “breaking the fast” and giving your body some much-needed energy. Don’t be deterred if you wake up with high blood glucose — your numbers may be higher than you expect due to the “dawn phenomenon,” (high blood sugar in the very early morning hours that many people with diabetes experience). But eating breakfast can actually help regulate the hormones that create this effect. Making a morning meal part of your routine is also linked with weight loss, which can make it easier to keep your blood sugar levels in check.
