Pain treatment wraps

Most pain wraps use hot or cold therapy to help ease pain caused by overexertion, strains, sprains, arthritis, or other conditions. Some pain treatment wraps may also contain a topical analgesic for added relief. These pain wraps can provide instant relief from symptoms and may last throughout the entire day. Pain relief tablets can take time to work and some of the ingredients can cause stomach irritation. Using a pain wrap to treat arthritis pain rather than over-the-counter pain relievers can save you money and prevent stomach upset and pain caused by aspirin and ibuprofen.

Using a pain wrap

Disposable pain wraps are quite simple to use. Simply open the package, remove any backing on the wrap or pain patch, and apply it to the affected area. Always read the directions on the package, and do not wear the pain patch longer than recommended or apply a wrap more frequently than recommended by the manufacturer. Reusable pain wraps must be chilled in the freezer or heated in a microwave prior to use, but they are generally more cost-effective if you are dealing with chronic pain that requires consistent use of a pain wrap to provide relief for conditions such as arthritis.
