Wax Strips For Body
Wax Strips at Walgreens
Waxing is a popular way to remove hair from the eyebrows, upper lip, legs, arms, underarms, bikini area and other parts of the body. Wax strips make it easy to eliminate unwanted hair in the comfort of your home. Walgreens carries a diverse assortment of wax strips for the face and body, so you can find the right option for your needs by shopping in stores or online.
Are wax strips safe?
Wax strips are generally safe if used as directed, but they can cause side effects in some people. Wax strips work by capturing hair on a sticky, waxy surface. When you peel the strip away, the hair comes with the strip. Some people find the sensation of pulling facial and body hairs out of the follicle to be initially painful, but the discomfort usually fades quickly.
The most common side effect of waxing is redness and skin irritation that gradually diminishes throughout the days following a treatment. Some wax kits contain skin-soothing oils or creams to ease inflammation. Skin may also develop small bumps that usually disappear within a few days.
Ingrown hairs may also occur with waxing. Exfoliating three to four days after waxing may lower the likelihood of ingrown hairs developing.
How to use wax strips
For best results, follow the usage instructions that come with the wax strips that you purchase. Kits may have slightly different directions for use.
Generally, the first step is to warm up the strip by rubbing it between your hands or running it under warm water for a few seconds. Then, you peel the backing off the strip and place it on the desired area.
Once the strip is in position, smooth it into place by gently gliding your hand over the back of the strip in the direction of hair growth. Repeat a few times. To remove the strip, grab the corner of the strip and pull your skin taut with the other hand. Pull the strip off with a single quick motion, moving in the direction opposite of hair growth.
Does waxing slow hair growth?
Waxing removes the root of the hair hidden inside of the follicle as well as the visible growth. As a result, hair usually takes longer to regrow than it does after using a hair removal method that only removes the visible part of the hair, such as shaving and depilatories. When used according to the manufacturer's directions, wax strips can typically provide results that last up to four weeks.
