What is it?

Employer-based health coverage, often covering both medical and prescriptions

Who is this for?

Individuals who are eligible to enroll in a family member's health plan, including:

  • If your spouse or domestic partner still receives health insurance through their employer, your loss of benefits may trigger a "qualifying event" that allows you to be added to their plan

  • Anyone 26 or younger with a parent who has health insurance through an employer can be added to their plan due to federal legislation under the Affordable Care Act

How do I enroll?

Your parent or spouse should refer to their benefits website or contact their Human Resources department for information on eligibility and enrollment. Documentation proving loss of health insurance may be required.
