Ricola lozenges

Ricola lozenges are made with natural herbs that help fight colds and ease coughing. These highly effective cough drops come in a few different flavors, so you are sure to find one that works for you. Walgreens.com has Ricola as well as several other brands of lozenges including Halls and Cold-Eeze.

Choosing cough drops

When choosing cough drops, the main concern is whether or not the lozenge effectively reduces your coughing. Ricola lozenges clear congestion while soothing your sore throat. The active ingredients in these cough lozenges is a combination of herbs cultivated in the Swiss Alps. You can use Ricola lozenges on their own or in conjunction with other cough and cold medicines. Some people also use natural medicines or alternative remedies to ease the symptoms of a cold. Saline nasal sprays and neti pots are extremely useful for clearing clogged sinuses. Keep in mind, however, that cough drops and other medicines merely treat the symptoms of a cold and cannot cure it.

Using Ricola lozenges

To use Ricola lozenges, simply slip one of these lozenges into your mouth and let it dissolve there and release its congestion-clearing vapors. You can use another lozenge immediately after the first one, but then you should wait two hours before repeating the process again. You can choose Ricola lozenges in the original herb flavor, cherry flavor, mixed berry flavor, or honey-herb flavor. Another type of Ricola lozenge is the Dual Action lozenge. This variety acts as a cough suppressant in addition to its ability to clear congestion and soothe a sore throat.
