This policy sets forth the requirements for accepting and applying coupons to a transaction. This policy applies to all Walgreens customers and team members involved with accepting and applying coupons to a transaction.
Manufacturer Coupon Procedure
Walgreens encourages the use of coupons in our retail stores and online. The Point of Sale (POS) will systematically enforce the coupon guidelines. Walgreens store leadership will assist in answering any questions or disputes on the interpretation of the procedure. Use of coupons must follow Walgreens procedures as well as state and local laws.
Coupon Guidelines:
Terms Applicable to All Coupons
- There is a limit of four identical coupons per household, per day that will be accepted, unless otherwise noted on the coupon.
- Walgreens cannot accept expired coupons. Coupons expire at 11:59 p.m. local time on the expiration date at the point of sale in store and at 11:59 p.m. CST for online.
- Walgreens cannot accept coupons that are copied, reproduced, altered, transferred, purchased, sold, or prohibited by law.
- Walgreens reserves the right to limit merchandise sold.
- Walgreens reserves the right to refuse, or limit the use of any coupon, including if the customer's behavior becomes disruptive/confrontational or the items being purchased are deemed not for normal household use.
- Manufacturer coupons must include a valid redemption address.
- Walgreens cannot exchange coupons for cash or gift cards. Coupons do not have any cash value.
- Walgreens cannot accept coupons for greater than the selling price of an item and cash back cannot be provided in exchange for any coupons. The total value of all coupons cannot be greater than the value of the transaction pre-tax. Sales tax will be applied if required by state law.
- Walgreens cannot accept competitor's coupons.
- Walgreens cannot accept coupons for more than the number of items in the transaction, including manufacturer coupons, Walgreens.com digital manufacturer coupons and Register Rewards®/Savings Rewards coupons.
- Walgreens cannot accept coupons that are distorted, blurry or altered in any way. All coupons must have a clear bar code that can be scanned.
- Walgreens cannot accept digital reproductions of offers (e.g., using a mobile application to reproduce an image of an offer/coupon or photocopied reproductions of coupons).
- Walgreens will not accept counterfeit coupons.
Internet Printed Coupons
- Walgreens cannot accept "free product" internet printed coupons.
Multiple Coupons
- When purchasing a single item, Walgreens can accept one manufacturer coupon (paper or digital) and any applicable Walgreens coupons for the purchase of a single item, provided neither exceed the price of the item, unless prohibited by either coupon offer.
- Paper manufacturer coupons will take precedence over the same digital manufacturer coupon.
Buy One Get One Free Coupons (BOGO)
- For promotions that offer a free item when multiple items are purchased (e.g. buy one get one free; buy two get one free, etc.), the number of coupons accepted cannot be more than the number of items in the "buy" section of the promotion. Walgreens cannot apply coupons against any free item received in any offer. A maximum of one manufacturer BOGO coupon, whether paper or digital from Walgreens.com, can be used for two qualifying items in a BOGO offer.
- Sales tax must be paid for all products, regardless of coupon values, if required by applicable state laws.
Catalina Coupon offers
Only the following Catalina Coupons that print at Walgreens are accepted:
- Walgreens Cash rewards (Spend X and get X in Walgreens Cash rewards)
- Dollar amount off of a brand
- %-off When You Spend $X, on regular priced items
- Register Rewards - Dollar amount off total store purchase
- Buy X, get $X off your next purchase
Earning Register Rewards®/Savings Rewards
- Register Rewards/Savings Rewards can only print for in-stock merchandise during the promotional period.
- Register Rewards/Savings Rewards can only be earned for eligible items. Substitutions will not be made.
- There is a limit of one Register Rewards/Savings Rewards coupon per offer, per customer, per transaction.
- Customers redeeming a Register Rewards/Savings Rewards will not receive another Register Rewards/Savings Rewards coupon with the same offer.
- Catalina offers that are printed in store are rewards earned for in store transactions only. They are not offered for same day delivery, curbside pickup, in store pickup, ship to home or ship to store orders. At select times, online customers will have the option to select online only rewards offers (if qualified) and will be applicable to same day delivery, curbside or instore Pickup, ship to home or ship to store orders.
Redeeming Register Rewards®/Savings Rewards
- Walgreens will only accept original Register Rewards. Any reproductions will be declined.
- Register Rewards are one-time use and this policy will be enforced.
- Customers redeeming a Register Rewards/Savings Rewards coupon will not receive another Register Rewards/Savings Rewards coupon with the same offer.
- The number of manufacturer coupons, including Register Rewards/Savings Rewards manufacturer coupons, cannot be greater than the number of items in the transaction.
- Register Rewards/Savings Rewards coupons cannot be replaced when qualifying merchandise is returned.
- Limitations and restrictions apply to using the Register Rewards/Savings Rewards coupons. See coupon for further details.
- Register Rewards can be redeemed for eligible items only. Ineligible items include but are not limited to:
- Alcoholic beverages
- Dairy products
- Gift cards/phone cards/general purpose reloadable cards
- Health care services, including immunizations
- Lottery tickets
- Money orders/transfers
- Postage stamps
- Prescription Savings Club membership fee
- Prescriptions
- Special event/entertainment tickets or passes
- Tobacco products
- Transportation passes
- Any items prohibited by law
Walgreens.com Digital Coupons
- Walgreens.com digital coupons must be clipped and attached to your MyWalgreens account prior to the time of the purchase transaction in order to be accepted.
- Walgreens cannot honor any coupons clipped after the transaction has completed.
- Manufacturer digital coupon cannot be stacked with manufacturer paper coupons.
- Orders placed online for curbside/in-store pickup, same day delivery, ship to home, or ship to store, must have digital coupons clipped/attached to the order during online order placement. Digital coupons cannot be added to your order at time of pickup or delivery.
- When redeeming Walgreens.com digital coupons at checkout, customers can add their myWalgreens account in the following ways:
- Enter the phone number, associated with the myWalgreens account the coupons are clipped to, on the pinpad
- Have the cashier scan myWalgreens Digital Wallet code
Walgreens only accepts Walgreens.com paperless coupons clipped to a customer’s myWalgreens account. No other digital coupons will be accepted. Stores cannot scan a coupon barcode from a mobile device that resides outside of the Walgreens mobile app, Walgreens.com Ship to Store ready for pickup email, or myWalgreens account (i.e. other company sites).
Returns
- Returns for items purchased with a manufacturer’s coupon will be processed for the full price paid for the item, which includes the value of the coupon(s), using the original form of payment.
- Coupons will not be given back upon return of the merchandise.
